Q: I'm interested in buying a couple of shrubs. Can I have those delivered?
A: Due to the nature of shipping live plant material, you are better off buying small quantities from your local nursery. In order for us to be cost effective, we ask that you meet our minimum purchase requirements.
Q: Why is there a shipping charge?
A: Smaller purchases require more handling and truck time. We have all experienced rising fuel costs. Therefore the more you purchase, we are able to defer these costs and save you more money.
Q: Is there a separate shipping charge for sod, shrubs and soil amendments?
A: Only if you don't meet the minimum purchase requirements individually. It is impossible for us to combine these types of materials on one truck due to there point of origination and the requirements for unloading.
Q: How does the plant material arrive?
A: Your order will be delivered to your jobsite by truck. All containers (1 gallon, 5 gallon, etc.) are individual, come in a plastic container and must be hand unloaded. They are not delivered in boxes or on pallets. 24" box trees can either be off loaded by lift gate or by means of a ramp. Larger material will require a tractor or crane. You must supply the labor and equipment to unload your order. We will assist whenever possible.
Q: Can I stop by and select my own material?
A: Since we are wholesalers, we do not allow buyers to walk through any yards. Deep discount prices don't enable us to have customers service representatives at your disposal.
Q: Since I can't pick out my own material, can I trust your quality?
A: Most definitely. Our plant material is all first grade stock. We will do everything in our power to ensure your happiness with the plants you purchase.
Q: What is your warranty?
A: 99% of plant mortality problems are associated with improper handling. For example: broken rootballs, planted too deep, no initial watering when they are first delivered, insufficient water when they are planted, too much water, etc. Therefore we warranty our plants for 30 days.
Q: Why should I buy Marathon sod from PlantsDirect? Grass is grass, right?
A: We carry only the best. Southland Sod's Marathon varieties have proven to be far superior over the competition, bar none. This grass is unavailable from Home Depot.
Q: I don't believe in credit cards. Can I pay you with a personal check?
A: Yes. However, all orders are paid in advance and we must wait the appropriate time for your check to clear the bank before delivery.
Q. Can I pay for the material COD?
A: No. Your order is treated as a special order. Therefore all material must be paid for in advance. In the event that a shrub is damaged, we will either replace the shrub or cheerfully refund your money.
Q. Since I don't know you, how can I trust who you are and will do what you say?
A: This is a common question especially with today's internet businesses. The fact of the matter is that without satisfied customers, we are out of business. It is our intention to build a business that stands upon integrity and that we do what we say. Therefore, upon request, we will email a list of satisfied referrals.
